The U.S. is currently in a recession. Many people that once lived normal, comfortable lives (home, transportation, and money) are now homeless.
Chuck Brown "Godfather of GoGo" and Brenda Eason owner of the BBON (Black Business Owners Network) know firsthand what being homeless is like. They have joined forces with the support of the community to help families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area
This will be the first of many shelter events hosted by Brenda Eason, as she wants to give back to those who are less fortunate. She remembers life in a shelter and only hopes to help families progress, just as she was able to do. The tour is titled “Gift of Hope” because Mrs. Eason wants to give hope to those currently experiencing homelessness.
They are asking the community, organizations and business owners to come forward with winter clothing (coats preferred) toys and potentially CD players for each family.
If you would like to make a donation please contact Amy Rice at 202-726-2203. The event is on December 20th so donations are needed quickly. Members of the press who would like to cover this story should contact Brenda Eason at Brenda@BBON.biz or 301-312-4936.
